Description

Covered and overgrown with sage and backed up against tall sandstone cliffs, the cemetery cannot be seen from the road, but the evidence of its existence is still there. Pieces of wooden crosses lying on the ground and broken and fallen cement crosses all indicate that this the final resting place of some of the pioneers the settled along the San Juan river over one-hundred years ago. Weathered post testify that once the cemetery was fenced on the south and west sides with the rock face on the east side. The entrance was on the north side.
