Description
After the Old Coonamble cemetery reached its capacity in 1912, the Coonamble General Cemetery was established. The design of the cemetery includes designated sections based on different religious denominations. At the heart of the cemetery stands the iconic Sexton's Hut, which has been recognized as a Heritage-listed structure. Adjacent to the Sexton's Hut, you'll find a collection of headstones that were rescued from the Old Coonamble cemetery. Additionally, on the side of the Sexton's Hut, there is a prominently displayed list featuring the names of the 611 pioneering individuals who were laid to rest in the old cemetery.
